We're looking for a few good men or women!
If you think you've got what it takes to be a Monsters at Play film reviewer and want to join our looney team, we want to hear from you! I've listed some guidelines below, feel free to send any other questions or submissions to joinus@monstersatplay.com. This is an open call, we're always looking for new blood, we want to hear from you!
Write your review for a flick we haven't written up on yet, we just may want to use it!
Please attempt to write intelligently and make sure your review is at least 600 words or more (we always love more!)
Your review can be for a DVD or VHS, independent or otherwise.
Extensive film knowledge is a MUST! Can you talk intelligently about horror and cult films? If yes then we want to hear from you!
Be sure to include your thoughts on every aspect of the DVD. Story, acting, picture and sound, extras, all around presentation, etc.
Let us know what your DVD and VHS viewing capabilities are at home ie: type of TV, DVD player, VHS player, DVD ROM (yes or no?), Multi Region or PAL/NTSC (yes or no?) and scanner (yes or no?) also can you take DVD screen shots from a PC or a MAC?
We will not be able to pay you for your services. However we do send you screeners (both VHS and DVD) for your review, and the best part is... you get to keep them! (And think of the prestige of writing for us, tell your friends!) You may be asked from time to time to review a film in your own personal collection as well.
Basic HTML knowledge is a plus but not a requirement!
For the time being, only those who live in the US are eligible (sorry!)
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send us an email at joinus@monstersatplay.com!
Lastly, we are considering adding interviews to the site and are in need of someone to handle this task. We would put you in contact with the person to interview and you would be on your way! To apply for this position, you must send us a sample interview. This interview can be with anyone or anything! (if you're really creative and convincing make one up!) Interview your mom, dad, barber, bank teller or little sister. interview anyone, just make it interesting! You may be required to conduct interviews either over the phone or by email. Once again, this is not a paid position, but we'll make it worth your while with some free goodness from time to time and once again, think of the prestige!
